The Partners of Campbells have established the following basis upon which they will consider applications for scholarships.
- The responsibility for determining eligibility for scholarships will be vested in the Scholarship Committee. All scholarships will be in the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
- The maximum annual sum to be awarded by way of scholarships is US$20,000.
- Scholarships are available to law and non-law students.
- The scholarship fund is only available to Caymanians.
- Applications will only be considered if made using the application form provided and accompanied by a handwritten letter.
- Applications will be considered from those intending to start or currently enrolled on full or part time degree or diploma courses or professional exams where such courses or exams are run by a recognised educational institution.
- Details of satisfactory past academic performance will be required for those not yet enrolled on their chosen course.
- For those already enrolled on courses or wishing to take professional exams, details of satisfactory academic performance to date will be required.
- Campbells will aim to support a number of students in any one year rather than necessarily dedicating the whole fund to any one student. The intention therefore will be to provide some financial assistance to eligible applicants rather than necessarily meet the full costs that any one applicant may have.
- An applicant's financial means, financial assistance from other sources and suitability for the proposed course will be taken into account when considering their application.
- The Scholarship Committee will require personal and academic references and will wish to interview those candidates that are identified as being eligible for assistance.
- The fact that a scholarship may be awarded to an applicant in one year does not mean that they will necessarily be awarded a scholarship in subsequent years. Applicants for further scholarships who may have already received them in previous years must be re-apply in accordance with the above procedures and will be considered along with any other eligible applicants.
- The Scholarship Committee may request additional information to that provided in the application form.
- If an award is given for a specific item such as tuition fees, then the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to make payment direct to the relevant institution or body.
- These guidelines may be changed from time to time at the discretion of the partners of Campbells.
- The Scholarships Committee may or may not give reasons for declining to award a scholarship.
