Legal 500
Legal 500, the "definitive guide to the legal market in over 70 countries", with "in-depth independent editorial, recommendations of law firms and lawyers, and law firm directories", has just published its latest survey of Cayman Islands law firms. We are very pleased that both the corporate and commercial and litigation departments of Campbells feature strongly in the recommendations.
 
In relation to the corporate and commercial department, the editorial states: "With a total of 15 fee-earners (including five partners), full-service Campbells has a well-respected corporate and commercial team of six associates headed by respected partners John Broadbent and John Wolf. The firm's focus is on investment and hedge funds, international corporations/group restructuring, banking and asset finance, financial institutions (local regulatory environment and bank, trust, insurance company and securities business licensing issues) and local practice. The firm's clientele includes leading UK and US law firms, investment/hedge funds, investment banks and other financial institutions."
 
The review of the litigation department reads as follows: "Another recognised force in litigation is Campbells concentrating three of its five partners and a further two associates in that department. Ross McDonough is singled out as a 'first rate, very capable lawyer'. The firm's experience comprises acting for liquidators of South American banks, acting in disputes over trust assets or between trustees, protectors and beneficiaries and acting in general commercial litigation matters for clients ranging from international financial institutions (eg Citibank), to local trading and financial services companies. Comments one client: 'They are very sound, commercially sensible, communications are well thought through - would certainly want to work with them again.' "
 
This is testament to the high level service that the firm delivers to its clients and confirms that it is a serious alternative to the larger firms in the Islands.
